Ruth Emma Lund Glover Talented & Dedicated
Ruth Emma Lund Glover passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 1, 2003.
Ruth was born to Lillie Gotberg and Arthur Earl Lund at her childhood home in Salt Lake City, Utah on July 26, 1922. She grew up the youngest of four children in a loving home with numerous pets including, parrots, a monkey, a skunk and horses. At South High and the University of Utah she was an excellent student and involved herself in sports, musicals and choir groups. During World War II she worked in a war industry in Salt Lake. She married Harold LaVell Glover in the Salt Lake Temple on September 11, 1946. She raised six children, made most of their clothes, did farm chores and worked part time at J.C. Penneys, EIMCO Credit Union and retired from American Express in 1987.
She made time to bring culture to her children, providing for music, dance and art instruction. She was from a very musical family and was a ward chorister for over 50 years.
A faithful member of the LDS Church, she served in many positions, including Relief Society President. Throughout her life she enjoyed traveling and camping. She will be remembered for her devotion to and hard work for her family.
The last surviving member of her immediate family, she is preceded in death by her husband, Harold; and son, Todd. She is survived by sons, Craig, Scott, and Trent (Janie); daughters, Diane (Allen) Hunt, and Sharon (Lewis) Squires; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services Monday, October 6, 2003, at 1:00 p.m. in the Midvale Utah North Stake Center, 97 West 7500 South where friends may call Monday from 12:00-12:45 p.m. Interment, Murray City Cemetery.
