"Batha was a member of the Phi Delta Kappa Educational Fraternity and the California Educational Superintendents Association. …"

"Because of the untimely death of the 54-year-old administrator last night's monthly Durham Unified School District (DUSD) board meeting was cut short but not before trustees agreed to meet again next week.
"At that time, trustees will discuss means of recruiting a new superintendent and what to do about filling the role between now and the start of the upcoming school year … Presently, the district is being managed by elementary school Principal Clyde Bryan and high school Principal William Rankin …"
