John Robert Edgar, 52, Barnett, died May 4, 2001, at his home.
He was born Nov. 19, 1948, in Cuba,MO, a son of Ural and Lena Bland-Edgar-Whittle. He was married in Frederick, Ill., to Reta Whittle, who survives at the home.
He was employed by Missouri Stave Company, Brighton, for the last seven years as a logger. He held the Arizona state logging record with 740 trees cut in one day.
He was a member of the Big Rock Church, near Barnett.
Other survivors include: two sons, Jeffrey Edgar and James Edgar, both of Bolivar; one daughter, Jessica Edgar, of the home; five brothers, Donald Edgar, Lincoln; George Edgar, David Edgar and Timmy Edgar, all of Versailles; and Oral Edgar, Barnett; four sisters, Mable Weicken, Stover; Sandra Davenport, California; Naomi Miller, Otterville; and Fern Brown, Mesa, Ariz.; and five grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles. Bro. Wilford Whittle will officiate. Burial will be in Versailles Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today.
