Arlys Gilliland, 88, daughter of Oscar and Fannie (Moses) Anderson, was born June 11, 1918 in Herndon, Iowa.

She graduated from Bagley High School In 1935. In 1936, she married Myron "Babe" Gilliland in Bethany, Missouri. To this union five children were born. They made their home in Bagley where they owned a small grocery store. In 1941, they moved to Fort Dodge and lived there until 1951. They moved to Rockwell City for a year before moving back to Bagley in 1952. They also wintered In Florida for many years and she continued to do so following her husband death in 1984.

In 1986, she moved to Perry for two years. She then moved to Panora until 2003. She then moved back to Perry. She enjoyed playing cards, gardening, flowers, sewing, crotchet, bowling, and was an avid shopper.

She was a member of the Panora United Methodist Church and the Bagley Garden Club.

Survivors include her children; Kay (Bill) Bullock of Perry, Joan Mantz of Bayard, Max (Vickie) Gilliland of Panora, Jackie (Bill) Wicks of Panora, and Mike (fiancé Linda) Gilliland of Urbandale. Twelve grandchildren, 23 great- grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded In death by her parents, husband Myron "Babe" Gilliland, two grandchildren Curtis Bullock and Jamie Gilliland, son-in- law Lowell Mantz, and brother Gerald Anderson.
