Obituary: The Randolph Leader, 13 July 1994

ROANOKE, AL -- Elisha Nadean Powell, 92, of Route 4, Knollwood, Roanoke, died at University Hospital in Birmingham on Tuesday, July 5, 1994.

Funeral services were Friday, July 8, 1994 at 11 a.m. EDT from Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Heard County, with Rev Eugene Striblin officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.

Mr. Powell was a native of Randolph County, AL but had lived in Heard County many years. He was a retired farmer and a Baptist by faith.

Survivors include seven daughters, Mrs. Jettie Evans of Midlothian,
IL, Mrs. Nadean Ford of Newnan, GA, Mrs. Jewell Pate of Whitesburg, GA, Mrs. Betty Crawford of Valley, AL, Mrs. Nancy Nelms of Snow Camp, NC, Mrs. Dorothy Swick of Franklin, GA and Mrs. Mary Parrott of New Haven, IN; two sons, James Powell of Hogansville, GA and Charlie Powell of LaGrange, GA; 36 grandchildren; 65 great-
grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Myrtie Pike of LaGrange and Mrs. Effie Bowen of Bremen, GA.

Tom Stutts and Son Funeral Home of Franklin was in charge of arrangements.
