As information concerning the tragic wreck of last Monday near Marshalltown continues to spread, it discloses more and more that Iowa Cityans have been closely touched by it. In many places today funerals, unusually sad, are being held. Waterloo and Cedar Rapids are the towns most deeply affected. However, West Branch has two funerals for citizens very much beloved in their community. One of these C.G. Eves, has called to West Branch, Mrs. W. C. Mott of this city, who was a cousin of the deceased. Mr. Eves was a proprietor of a store at West Branch and very highly esteemed.
Mr. Fisher, Mr. Eves, William Ward, and N. C. Heacock were all seated together in the smoking car. Their seats were turned so as to face each other and the men were conversing when the wreck happened. All were killed instantly.

* This same paper tells of a double funeral for C. G. Eves with F. S. Fisher, another Green Mountain Victim. The largest crowd ever seen in attendance at a funeral attended.

*Cedar Rapids Evening Gazette March 23, 1910 says that the four men were all going to Dakota together to look after some land interests. Mr. Eves' body was met by his brother in law W. S. Bye.
