William H. Reed died at the home of his son, Justin Reed last Wednesday June 12, 1918 and was laid to rest in the Middletown cemetery June 13. Mr. Reed enlisted in the Union Army at the age of 21 and served three years in Co. "M" 4th Missouri Cavalry. After his discharge from the army he married Miss Roseltha Lynn and five boys were born to them, Justin R; Maurice U., and Harlow A. Reed. He leaves eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He came to California in 1875 and located first in Colusa. He moved to Lake county in 1888. For the last 17 years he has made his home in Los Angeles Six months ago he came to Lake county to be near his children. He was a good Christian all is live.
