He was a retired employee of the Pennsylvania Railroad, Shire Oaks yard.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Monongahela.
Surviving are his widow, Violet Lytle Smith; three daughters, Mrs. Luther (Cherrie) Carden Jr. of the state of Indiana, Mrs. David (Mary Belle) Thomas of Ohio and Mrs. Frank (Violet) Martin Jr. of Gastonville; two sons, David of Monongahela and Frank of Charleroi; and two brothers, Brice and Raymond, both of Monongahela.
Friends will be received after 7 p.m. today at the L.M. Frye Funeral Home, Monongahela.
