A native of Rockingham County, he was a son of the late Armstead William Dallas, Sr. and the late Lillian Brande Dallas Dabbs and had lived his entire life in Rockingham County. He was a former teacher and coach at Wentworth High School, Bethany High School and at Reidsville High School. He retired as a supervisor of North Carolina Probation and Parole for Rockingham, Caswell and Stokes Counties. A WWII US Marine Corps Veteran, he was a 1951 Cum Laude graduate of Wake Forest College. He was a charter member of Woodmont United Methodist Church and a member of Jefferson Penn Masonic Lodge # 384 AF & AM.
Surviving are his wife of 66 years,one daughter and eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
