Nobility. Born the fifth daughter of Jean I de Bourgogne and Marguerite de Baviere. In 1423 she was married to the Duke of Bedford to cement the relations between England and Burgundy. She was present at the trial of Jeanne d'Arc and provided her with woman's clothing, but left before the execution. She died during an epidemic in Paris while caring for the sick. Her body was first buried at the Celestines in Paris. In 1816 her gisant was brought to Versailles and is today housed at the Louvre. Her remains were found in 1847 and were brought to Dijon where they were laid to rest inside her grand-fathers tomb.
