Evan Services
Funeral services were held Saturday at 2 p.m. from St. James Catholic church for Charles L. Evan, who died in the Huth Memorial Hospital in Yoakum at 11:45 p.m. March 3.
A rosary services was recited at Buffington Chapel Saturday at 7:30 p.m. with the Rev. Jim Schellenberg officiating at all services, burial was in the St. James cemetery under arrangements by Buffington Funeral Home.
Mr. Evan, a resident of Route 3, Cheapside Community, was born September 17, 1912, in Lavaca county. He was the son of Louis and Annie Michalec Evan, natives of Czechoslovakia. He was married on October 28, 1941, to Tillie Winklarek, and was a farmer and rancher. He was a member of St. James church.
Surviving him are his widow; one daughter, Frances Kay Monette of Houston; one sister, Mrs. Joe Gajdos of Gonzales; and a brother, Joe Evan of Arnold Missouri.
Pallbearers were Robert Evan, Charles Evan, Roy Lynn Evan, Robert Garvel, James Waller and David Kresta.
