Walter J. Wright age 72 of McGregor, IA passed away Thursday, May 2, 2013 at the University Of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison, WI after a brief illness. He was born October 17, 1940 in Wayne City, IL the son of Grady and Frieda Mabel (Smith) Wright. He married Sharon Elliott on February 29, 1959 and she preceded him in death in 1970. He then married Lois Karlson and they later divorced. He later married Judith Hamm on September 2, 1978. Walt worked as a Dept. Head for Burgess Norton in Geneva, IL for 20 years. He later owned and operated the Falling Rock Tavern in Lynxville, WI. He enjoyed being an over the road truck driver for the past 20 years. He belonged to the Falling Rock Walleye Club and the Eagles Club Aerie 1502.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, brothers, Gene and Dorman Wright and a sister Eleanor Bullock.
Funeral services will be Monday, May 6, 2013 at 10:00 AM at the Bible Baptist Church in Prairie du Chien, WI with Rev. Andy Doll officiating, with burial on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 in the Olive Branch Cemetery in Wayne City, IL. Friends may call on Sunday, May 5, 2013 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Garrity Funeral Home in Prairie du Chien and at the church on Monday, May 6, 2013 at the time of the service.
