Here is Frank's obituary as it read on the Dahl-VanHove-Schoof Funeral Home website: Frank R. Schwartz, Jr., 83, of Cedar Falls, died Friday, May 24, 2013, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo. He was born October 24, 1929 in Preston, Minnesota, the son of Frank G. and Winnifred (Losey) Schwartz. Frank married Helen R. Loll on November 13, 1953 in Cedar Falls. She preceded him in death on August 14, 1988. Frank was a 1947 graduate of Preston, Minnesota High School and served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He worked at the Cedar Falls branch of the United States Post Office for twenty-six years, and was a plasterer for many years. Frank was a member of the Cedar Falls AMVETS, Waterloo Fraternal Order of Eagles, Waterloo VFW and was a Chicago Cubs and Kansas City Chiefs fan. Survivors include his son, Frank (Sherry) Schwartz II, of Elkhart, Iowa; his two daughters, Nancy (Brian) Anderson of Van Meter, Iowa and Pam (Jim) Elliott of Cedar Falls; nine grandchildren, Jeremy (Signe) Hinde, Jordan Anderson, Nicolle Fischer, Dustin DeSerano, and Tori, Zack, Kelsey, Dalton & T.J. Schwartz, and eight great grandchildren. Frank was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers and four sisters. Services will be 10:30 am Tuesday, May 28, 2013, at Dahl-VanHove-Schoof Funeral Home, with burial at Greenwood Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Military honors will be conducted by Cedar Falls AMVETS Post 49. Visitation will be 3-6:00 pm Monday and one hour before service, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice or the Visiting Nursing Association. Condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com. To honor Frank, the family requests everyone attending the visitation and service wear Chicago Cubs or Kansas City Chiefs attire.
