He died at the at Glens Falls Hospital following a long struggle with heart disease and depression.
Parents - Clarence and Helen Carlsen. He was the last of 5 children born to his parents and grew up in a log cabin in Pottersville
He played guitar, piano, French Horn and banjo, and had a beautiful bass-baritone voice.
He was a member of the Crane Chorus, in the chorus of the Lake George Opera, in Adirondack Voices and in the choir of Christ Church United Methodist.
He was a furniiture expert at The Sagamore Resort in Bolton Landing for over 20 years. He was equally adept at restoring (making old things look new) and distressing (making new things look old).
At the time of his death he was survived by his parents; his wife, Frieda Toth, and their daughter, Rosalie Carlsen; his four siblings: Linda Everett, Steve Carlsen, Judy Williams and Diane Page, and their families.
