Cap was married to Josephine Singleton on January 10, 1921. She passed away on Feb. 18, 1982.
He served in World War I in the Army of Occupation at Coblenz Germany. After the War he returned to Ava and served as operator on the Yellow Jacket and Blue Bird railroad. L. V. and Josephine moved to California in 1937 where they operated a Chicken Ranch in Pomona and he worked as a foreman at the Pomona as a foreman at the Pomona Valley Feed Company until he retired. L. V. lived in Pomona until Josephine passed away then he returned to Ava, Missouri.
L. V. attended the United Methodist Church and was a member of the American Legion.
