Sabina Palmer, daughter of Jacob S. Palmer, was born in DeKalb County, Indiana, July 28, 1870, and died at Corunna, Indiana, July 16, 1931, lacking just 12 days of being 61 years old. She lived her entire life in Richland township, having spent the last nine years in Corunna. She married Wm. Shellhouse in 1893 to which union were born two sons, one Forest having preceded her in death.
She leaves to mourn her departure, one son, Jay Shellhouse of Detroit, Mich., two grandchildren, two brothers, Amos J. Palmer of Hudson, Ind., and Marvin Palmer, of Corunna, Ind., one sister, Anna May Reinoehl of Scottville, Mich.; two half brothers, Eli Palmer of Elkhart and Wm. Beard of Syracuse, Ind.; one half sister Rosella Rufner of Richland township, and a host of relatives and friends.
She gave her heart to the Lord and became a member of the church of the Brethren at the age of 20 years, in spite of her many severe trials and afflicitons she maintained a loving and peaceful spirit throughout her entire life. In her last and fatal sickness which began last February she endured constant suffering without murmuring. She was a devoted mother, a consistent Christian and a true friend and neighbor to all who knew her.
Funeral services were held at the Corunna Methodist church, Sunday forenoon, July 19, with Rev. C. C. Cripe of Auburn, Ind., and Rev. C. H. Jennings of Waterloo, Ind., officiating. Interment was made in the Richland Center cemetery. (Re: Obituary Book vol 11, pg 82)
