Born in Alexandra, VA on March 2, 1923 to the late George M. Dawson and Victoria C. Dawson. Wesley is preceded in death by his brother, Wilson Dawson and sisters, Dorothy "Dot" Schmidt, Jean Mittendorff, Jane Hunt and Kitty Shifflett.

Wesley is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Ruby Kendrick Dawson. They were married in Alexandria on July 12, 1947. Wesley is lovingly remembered by his son, Clay Dawson and wife Barbara of Mechanicsburg, PA, his son, Chris Dawson of Alexandria, VA, his daughter, Connie Edenfield of Statesboro, GA; grandchildren, Jeremey and Kate Dawson, Wesley and Crystal Edenfield, Missy and James Quicke, Troy Edenfield and Niccole Gatliff; six great-granchildren and many, many nieces and nephews.

Wesley proudly served in the 101st Airborne Infantry for 12 years and was the owner of well respected Dawson Masonry for over 40 years. Wesley was also a member of the Accotink United Methodist Church, the Moose Lodge and the V.F.W. Wesley enjoyed hunting, walking, yard work, spending time with his family and working with his hands.
