Daniel P. Linnell, 69, of Sandwich, passed away peacefully at the McCarthy Care Center in Sandwich on May 17, 2013. He was the beloved husband of Sandra (Montgomery) Linnell and son of the late Alvin Morse and Elizabeth (Crowe) Linnell. Daniel graduated from Waltham public schools. He owned and operated Dan Linnell Trucking and enjoyed hauling logs throughout New England for many years with his good friend Greg Clark. He was also owner/operator of Aristocrat Limousine for 25 years. Dan and his wife Sandy, with their dog Spot, loved to travel all over the U.S. in their RV, fulfilling one of the many dreams on their "bucket list". Dan was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, and will be dearly missed by all.
In addition to his loving wife Sandy of 43 years, Dan is survived by his beloved dog and companion, Spot; son Daniel Linnell Jr., and daughter-in-law Laura and four grandchildren, Josefa, Luke, Shane and Isabel, all of East Sandwich; his brothers, David Linnell and Alvin "Billy" Linnell of Waltham, and his sister, Elizabeth McKenzie of Marlborough, as well as several nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at Christ the King Church, 3 Job's Fishing Rd. Mashpee, MA on Friday, May 24, 2013 at 10:00am. Burial will follow in the Sandwich Town Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the McCarthy Care Center, 73 Service Rd. Sandwich, MA 02537.
