Betty J. Lengerich, 72, of Monroe died on Thursday, October 25, 2012 at Adams Memorial Hospital. Betty was born on April 25, 1940 in Adams County to the late Robert J. and H. Wanda (Reidenbach) Baker. On January 10, 1960 she married Frederick A. Lengerich.

Betty was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, the Women of St. Mary’s, a former member of the St. Mary’s Choir and Sunday School teacher for 10 years. She was self-employed with Lengerich Meats and Decorating Den. In her retirement she spent her time loving her grandchildren and following their activities.

Survivors include her husband Fred A. Lengerich of Monroe; three sons Mark F. Lengerich of Ft Wayne, Sam J. (Natalie J.) Lengerich of Monroe and Luke D. (Nicole R.) Lengerich of Goshen; two daughters Laura A. (Randy J.) Lewis of Decatur and Amy M. (Phil W.) McDonald of Berne; a brother Ronald L. (Judy) Baker of Columbia City; 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a sister Patricia A. Baker.

Visitation will be Sunday, October 28, 2012 from Noon-5:00 p.m. at Haggard-Sefton & Hirschy Funeral Home with reciting of the Holy Rosary at 5:00 p.m. Calling also on Monday, Oct. 29th from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Parish Hall followed by an 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church. Father David Voors will be officiating and burial is in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
