Emily "Dutch" Ruddock Abadie passed away on Monday, May 20, 2013 at the age of 90. Beloved wife of the late Merlin H. Abadie, Sr. Cherished mother of Merline A. Caruso (Conrad), Alan J. Abadie, Sr. (Charlene), Terrie A. Neal (Gary), Charmaine A. Dupree (Glen deceased), Merlin "Mike" H. Abadie, Jr. (Jeanne) and Julie A. Bradbury (Keith).
Daughter of the late Lawrence B. Ruddock, Sr., and Alma Six Ruddock. Preceded in death by her sister and brothers, Rita Davis, Lawrence "L.B." Ruddock, Bert Ruddock and Eddie Ruddock.
Also preceded in death by her granddaughter Stephanie C. Fayard.
Emily is survived and fondly remembered by 16 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Emily was a native of New Orleans, Louisiana and a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish, displaced by Hurricane Katrina to reside in Slidell, Louisiana.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered as a loving, gentle and loyal wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend to many.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue Street, Chalmette, Louisiana on Thursday, May 23, 2013 from 9:30 AM -11:30 AM, followed by a mass at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church, 2320 Paris Road, Chalmette, Louisiana.
Interment will follow at Hope Mausoleum, 4841 Canal Street, New Orleans, Louisiana.
