Elviin L. "Brownie" Brown, 84, of 726 Maple Street, Waynesboro, died at 7:10 P.M., Monday, May 20, 2013 in Quincy Village.
Born April 6, 1929 in Blue Ridge Summit, PA, he was the son of the late John E. and Leatha V. (Muth) Brown. He was a lifelong resident of the Blue Ridge Summit and Waynesboro areas.
Mr. Brown served with the United States Army during the Korean Conflict, serving mostly in England.
He and his wife of almost 63 years, Jean Elizabeth (Cline) Brown, were married on May 26, 1950 in Leitersburg, MD. They have lived at their present residence for the past 57 years.
Mr. Brown owned and operated Brown's Welding Shop in Waynesboro, doing custom welding.
He was a member of Salem Church, Waynesboro, and was also a member of the Waynesboro Fish and Game, where he served on the Board of Directors for many years.
Mr. Brown enjoyed cooking for his friends.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Rick L. Brown of Germantown, MD; one brother, John Brown, Jr. of Waynesboro; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Haugh and Ruth Fitz.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, May 23, 2013 in Green Hill Cemetery, 953 South Potomac Street, Waynesboro with Rev. Eugene Cline officiating.
