Violet L. Schoenbeck, 96, of Burlington, died Thursday, April 24, 2008 at Mt. Carmel Medical & Rehabilitation Center. She was born July 11, 1911in Muscoda to Hi and Nettie (nee Hardy) Harper. She spent her early life in Blue River. On March 1, 1933 she married Arthur Lieffrig who preceded her in death in 1941. In May of 1943 she married Harold Schoenbeck. Following marriage they lived in Boscobel, Tomah, Madison, Bristol and Fox Lake, IL. Harold preceded her in death on Feb. 28, 1969. She has been a resident of Burlington since 1993.

Violet was a homemaker and she also worked at Charmglow BBQ Factory in Bristol. She was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bristol and the Ladies Aid Society of the church. She was a 4-H leader and a member of Kenosha County Homemakers. She loved to raise flowers. She enjoyed crocheting, baking pies and vegetable gardening. She also loved spending time with her family and her grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Darlene Lentz of Kenosha, Arnold (Tessie) Lieffrig of Bristol, Dan (Rosie) Schoenbeck of Lake in the Hills, IL, David (Carol) Schoenbeck of Twin Lakes, Joseph (Patricia) Schoenbeck of Lake Villa, IL, 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-granddaughter, brother, Melvin Lawver of Blue River and sister-in-law, Leonora Lawver of Blue River. She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, brothers, Edward Anderson, Kenneth and Keith Lawver, sisters, Mary Richardson and Wilma Grimmsey.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 1, 2008 at 1:00PM at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 7931 Hwy 45, Bristol, 53104, with Rev. Philip Wilde officiating. Burial will follow at Hosmer Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family on Wednesday, April 30, 2008 from 4 – 8PM at church and also on Thursday, May 1st from 12 noon – 1PM at church. Memorials have been suggested to Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bristol or to Vitas Hospice.
