Charlie V. Adamson, 70, of Sycamore, died Thursday, May 3, 1990 at his home.
He was born Dec. 29, 1919 in Rock Mills, Ala., the son of Eddie B. and Mollie B. Adamson. He married Alta I. Snyder in Geneva on May 25, 1979.
He was formerly employed by Spalding Company in DeKalb and Duplex Products Inc. in Sycamore. He later was a barber, operating out of his home. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy. He was a 32nd degree Mason, and a member of the DeKalb Masonic Lodge, the Tabala Shrine and the White Shrine.
He is survived by his wife; one son, Charles "Buddy" (Kelly) Adamson of Sycamore; one daughter, Charlotte (Wendell) Nichols of Selma, Alabama; six grandchildren, Angela, Amy, Matthew and Kimberly Adamson of Sycamore and Deanna and Bo Willis of Selma, Ala.; and one great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at Anderson Funeral Home with the Rev. Ronald Miles of the First Baptist Church of DeKalb officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Sycamore. Visitation is today from 5-8 p.m. where a Masonic service will be recited at 8 p.m.
