Alton T. Singleton, 62, of Tioga, Nicholas County, died Thursday, July 7, 2011, at his home after an extended illness.

Born October 22, 1948, in Richwood, he was a son of the late Dewey and Jean Cecil Singleton. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Avonell Davis; and a brother, Byrne Singleton.

He was retired teacher in Nicholas County and was an Air Force veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Janet Curry Singleton; sons, Bret and wife, Sara, of Tioga, Ben and fiancee, Angie, of Craigsville and Cameron of Tioga; grandson, Addison of Tioga; and two brothers, Sidney and Bryan.

Memorial funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 10, at St. Luke's United Methodist Church, Craigsville, with Pastor Charlie Stevens officiating.

In keeping with his wishes, the body was cremated.

White Funeral Home, Summersville, is in charge of the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Luke's United Methodist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 710, Craigsville, WV 26205.
