Ruth (King) Reed was born about 2 December 1775 in Brattleboro, Windham, Vermont, the youngest child of William King and Elizabeth Cushing. She married William Reed about 1794 and they had at least seven children: Polly, Betsey, William Jr., Ransom K., Jahiel, John H., and Belinda. Ruth never remarried after her husband passed away in 1818. She lived in Pittstown, Rensselaer, New York with her children before they removed to Queensbury, Warren, New York. She passed away 27 September 1850 and was interred at West Glens Falls Cemetery in Queensbury.
