Dr. Adams was a pediatrician in Shively for 50 years, he was an Army veteran of both World War II and Korea, retiring with the rank of colonel in 1984, commander of the 5010th Medical Support at Bowman Field, a member of the Louisville Daylily Society, Filson Club, WBCCI Airstream Club, Louisville Philatelic Society for many years and attended Ralph Avenue Baptist Church. He was a proud graduate of Stanford University, CA, and University of Louisville Medical School.
He was preceded in death by his son, John Cullen Adams.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, the former Dempil Herald Adams; children, Wayne M. Adams, Carolyn Bennett Adams Doucette and Billy T. Adams; eight grandchildren, William, Kathryn, Marcy, Mac, Jason, Jay, Alan and Jonathon; and four great-grandchildren, Lilly, Cullen, Sophia and Nathan.
Funeral: 11a.m. Wednesday at Owen Funeral Home-Jeffersontown, 9318 Taylorsville Road. Visitation: 3-8 p.m. Tuesday, with burial to follow at Resthaven Cemetery.
