Charlie Myers, age 94, of Townsend, passed away Saturday, May 18, 2013 at Asbury Place of Maryville. He was a member of Maryville-Alcoa Church of God and attended Caylor's Chapel Baptist Church in Townsend. He was a retired carpenter from Rentenbach Contractors. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in North Africa during World War II. Preceded in death by his wife Nell Marie Moore Myers; parents, George and Millie L. Myers; sister, Lydia Davis; and brothers, Devero and Jack Myers. Survivors include his sons and daughters in law, James and Kaye Myers of Maryville, John and Dorothy Myers of Maryland; grandchildren, Shayna Holmes, Dana Myers and John Myers Jr.; two great grandchildren, Kayla and Alexa Horney; several nieces and nephews and special nephew Condon Davis, who was there when he needed him. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 10088, Knoxville TN 37939-9910. Funeral service will be held 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at Bethel Baptist Church in Townsend, Rev. Ronnie Reagan officiating. Graveside service and interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the church.
