William John Kuhn, a lifelong resident of Butler County, passed away Feb. 28 in New Bern, N.C., near his daughter.
He was born March 13, 1914, and he lived independently for 98 years.
Bill was a decorated disabled World War II veteran, serving in the invasion of Normandy.
He had been a miner and steelworker. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed the wonders of natures, especially the evenings at the time of long shadows.
He is survived by his daughter, Marlene (Bob) Miller; his grandson, Casey (Jessica) Miller; his great- grandson, Jack Miller; and many nieces and nephews. He had a special and close relationship with his nephew, Bruce Watson.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline (Altmire); brothers, Cliff, Henry and Lambert; and sisters, Hazel, Myrtle, Lillian and Bess.
KUHN - At his request, a private family funeral was held for William John Kuhn, who passed Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013. He was buried in Greenlawn Cemetery, next to his wife Pauline.
