Daughter of John Hubbard and Sarah (Baxter) Stratton.

She married first Mr. Mervin W. Chase, about 1839. He died 27 June 1856 in Worcester. (Note: the announcement in the "Massachusetts Spy" is listed as Merriam W. Chase and says he was 37.)

Widow of Charles Gates (son of Samuel and Eunice (White) Gates, whom she married second on 30 October 1861 in West Boylston, MA. He d. 23 May 1892 in Worcester.

From the "Worcester Daily Spy" (Worcester, Massachusetts), 25 May 1892:
Death of Charles Gates.
Charles Gates, who died on Monday at his residence, 30 Orange street, aged 71 years and three months, was a well known native resident of this city, son of Lewis (sic) Gates, who resided on the farm now owned by Elliot Moore, near Tatnuck.
The deceased was a butcher by trade, but retired from the business several years ago on account of ill health.
He was brother of Leonard Gates, who resides on Pleasant street, just this side of Tatnuck, and uncle of Alderman A. Frank Gates.
Their ancestors have been residents of Worcester for several generations.
The deceased leaves a wife and stepdaughter, Mrs. H. W. Rockwell....
Age 95 years, 9 months, 8 days.
