ALMUTH M. BROKENS
Almuth Margareta Brokens, 85, died last Sunday afternoon in her home west of Langworthy. Mrs. Brokens had enjoyed good health until lately when she became afflicted with the infirmities of old age. She had been confined to her bed but eight days prior to her passing away. Funeral services were held Wednesday morning, at 10 o'clock at the home west of Langworthy and at 10:30 from the Wayne Zion Lutheran church. Interment was made at the cemetery adjoining the church. Services were in charge of Rev. J.Willms.
Almuth Margareta Brokens, nee Bohlken, was a daughter of the late Henry Bohlken. In the spring of 1882 she came with her family to the United States and settled in Jones County where she resided all the remaining days of her life.
Dec. 20, 1883, she was married to Dirk Behrend Brokens who preceded his wife in death. Mr. Brokens died Jan 6, 1894. Three children were born to this union, two boys and one girl, the girl passing away in infancy. Mrs. Brokens never remarried after her husband's death but reared her family and kept house for her son Henry on the farm west of Langworthy.
Mrs. Brokens is survived by two sons, John and Henry, one grandson, Ben, and a brother, John Bohlken, of Sand Springs.
