He is the son of George Washington Mille Sr and Almina Fish Miller Carson. He married Mary Ann "Polly" Carson Miller on January 9, 1866, in Louisville, Jefferson County, Kentucky. Their Children are Wilkes Booth Miller 1866–1870, Joseph Carson Miller Sr 1868–1927, John Fish Miller 1870–1872, Alma Maynard Miller England 1875–1947, Zachary Taylor Zack Miller 1877–1952, and George Lee Kokernut Miller 1881–1929. He was a veteran of the Confederate Army. In 1893 he founded the Miller Brothers 101 Ranch was a 110,000-acre cattle ranch in the Indian Territory of Oklahoma before statehood. It is located near modern-day Ponca City. He died on April 25, 1903, in Lincoln, Kentucky, at the age of 62, and was buried in his hometown and is buried in the Fish Family Cemetery.
