Civil War vet Geo. W. Miller headed West for California but ended his journey in Bliss, Okla. Bliss no longer exists. Founder of the "Fabulous 101 Ranch"; originator of the Wild West Shows that were famous in the U.S. and Europe, and the subject of Michael Wallis's book "The Real Wild West", Geo. Miller is a larger than life figure. His 3 sons carried on until the dream ended around the time of the Great Depression in 1929. Read the book and marvel at this extra ordinary man and what he did.

George Washington Miller was born in Crab Apple Cove, Kentucky but that town no longer exists. He died at The Miller 101 Ranch in Oklahoma. He is laid to rest at Fish Cemetery in Apple Orchard, Kentucky but Apple Orchard no longer exists either.George Washington Miller was born on February 22, 1841, in Crab Orchard, Lincoln County, Kentucky. He is the son of George Washington Mille Sr and Almina Fish Miller Carson. He married Mary Ann "Polly" Carson Miller on January 9, 1866, in Louisville, Jefferson County, Kentucky. Their Children are Wilkes Booth Miller 1866–1870, Joseph Carson Miller Sr 1868–1927, John Fish Miller 1870–1872, Alma Maynard Miller England 1875–1947, Zachary Taylor Zack Miller 1877–1952, and George Lee Kokernut Miller 1881–1929. He was a veteran of the Confederate Army. In 1893 he founded the Miller Brothers 101 Ranch was a 110,000-acre cattle ranch in the Indian Territory of Oklahoma before statehood. It is located near modern-day Ponca City. He died on April 25, 1903, in Lincoln, Kentucky, at the age of 62, and was buried in his hometown and is buried in the Fish Family Cemetery.
