Essie Lee Crabtree, age 78 of Winfield, Tennessee departed this life on Sunday, May 19, 2013 at Park West Medical Center in Knoxville. She was a Christian of Baptist faith. She was a long time member of Highway Baptist Church in Winfield.
Born in Winfield on December 10, 1934 she was the daughter of the late Virgil and Sally Perkins Ramsey. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John R. Crabtree; grandson, Seth Ramsey Crabtree; sisters, Reba Baker and Juanita Ramsey; brothers, Charles and Harley Ramsey.
She is survived by her five children, Marilyn Spears and husband Richard, Richard Crabtree and wife Kathy, Mike Crabtree and wife Lorri, Bruce Crabtree and wife Lainill and Keeshia Crabtree Casada; grandchildren, Harley, Chris and Arien Wisner, Richard "Bud" Crabtree, Ben and Drew Crabtree, Cherith, Jenna and Noah Crabtree, Shelby Casada and Darcee Crabtree; sisters, Hazel Terry, Dessie Conley, Ann Thompson and her brother, Ernest Ramsey; special friends, Sue Stanley and Louise Jones; several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Friends may visit with the Crabtree family on Thursday, May 23, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Bro. Delmon Stanley officiating. Music will be provided by Tammy Wright and Doyle and Nancy Smith.
Graveside services will be conducted on Friday, May 24, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in the Walker Cemetery in Winfield. Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Wisner, Arien Wisner, Colby Wisner, Ben Crabtree, Drew Crabtree, and Richard "Bud" Crabtree, and honorary pallbearer Noah Crabtree.West-Murley Funeral Home is serving the family of Essie Lee Crabtree.
