DECLO – Scott Michael Altmann, 47, of Declo, passed away Friday, May 17, 2013, at his home.

Scott was born on Oct. 13, 1965, in Saint Paul, Minn., the son of Robert Frederick and Kathleen Dawn Schaffer Altmann. He served as a sonar techinician in the United States Navy from 1984 until 1991. He married Dalea Osterhout on Aug. 3, 2001, in Declo.

He worked as an assistant manager for Wal-Mart for several years and at the time of his death, Scott was the processing technician in human resources for MEPS. He enjoyed golf, bike riding, hiking and traveling. However, most important to him was his family. He loved his wife and children.

He is survived by his wife, Dalea Altmann of Declo; his children, Nathaniel Hollins and Kailee Altmann both of Declo; his father-in-law, Glen Osterhout of Declo; his mother-in-law, Deanna (Layne) Carson of Declo; his siblings, Robert Altmann, Julianne Almquist, Wendy Davis, and Timothy Altmann; three sisters-in-law, Jennifer (Thayne) Schafer, Sarah (Zach) Warner, and Brittney Osterhout; and his nieces and nephews.

Scott was preceded in death by his parents.

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, May 24, at the Declo LDS Stake Center, 213 W. Main St., with Bishop Garth Searle officiating. Burial will be in the Declo Cemetery with military rites provided by the Mini-Cassia Veterans Organization.

Friends may call from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday, May 23, at the Rasmussen Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley, and from noon until 12:40 p.m. Friday at the church.
