Mr. James William McDowell, 77, of Whiteville, died Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. He was born November 13, 1932 in Dillon County, SC, the son of the late Monroe McDowell and Ella Belle Alford McDowell. He married Gladys Alene Lee.
He served in the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Tim McDowell and Jimmy McDowell; five sisters, Frances Guagliardo, Eudell McDowell, Earline Scott, Maggie Ammons and Ada Barnhill; two brothers, Marshall McDowell and Joseph McDowell.
