He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Frances Wellford Ash and his four children, Will Ash of Paragould, AR., Rhea Ash Boyce (Aaron) of Sikeston, MO., Tony Ash of Dillon, MT. , Ann Ash Adams (Ed) of Forrest City, AR., and a step-daughter Sandee Wood Crouch (Jim) of Collierville, TN.
He leaves behind one granddaughter, 8 grandsons and two step-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Lynn Ash Petry (Dick) of Forrest City, AR.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents Mr. and Mrs. Mitchell Joseph Ash, Sr. (Helen) also of Forrest City, AR.
He was an investment broker with First Tennessee Bank and later with Morgan Keegan until retiring in 1994. He was adored by many nieces, nephews, friends and colleagues. He was an avid golfer and traveler. All who were acquainted with Joe knew of his love for the St. Louis Cardinals and his beloved Razorbacks.
Joe was a graduate of Arkansas State University where he was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity. He also served in the National Guard Reserve.
Visitation will be held Monday May 20 from 5-7 pm with Funeral Services being held on Tuesday May 21 at 10 am.
Both services will take place at Memorial Park Funeral Home 5668 Poplar Ave.
