Della was the quintessential farm wife, living with her husband Herman and his brother Albert on a 100-acre farm outside of Akron, Ohio. The couple had a daughter who only lived for a few years and unfortunately passed away in 1931. They also had a son in April 1926, Robert Dallas Toepfer, who passed away from Leukemia in February 1980. Della passed away from complications caused by Arterialclorosis (hardening of the arteries).
