Wilburn E. "Willy" Drennon

Memorial service for Wilburn E. "Willy" Drennon, 71, Verden, will be at noon Monday at McRay Funeral Home Chapel in Chickasha with Pastor Don Byerly, of Lawton, officiating.

Mr. Drennon left his earthly home Wednesday, June 22, 2011, in Lawton.

Wilburn E. "Willy" Drennon was born the son of Mable and Howard Drennon on Dec. 27, 1939, in Indiahoma. Willy worked for several places in Lawton including Fairmont Creamery, Lopez Tile, Meads Bakery and Harvey Jenkins Construction. He worked for Rainbow Baker and Bordens Dairy in Oklahoma City and for MDR Cartage and MC Express Inc. in Jonesboro, Ark.

Willy enjoyed fishing the Washita River, having coffee with his friends, and Tiny (his 2nd wife as he loved to call her), and his best little buddy, Bob. He loved planting flowers, working in the vegetable garden and making beef jerky and salsa.

Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Jerri, of the home; daughters and husbands; Marsha Anderson and Temo Ortiz, of Irving, Texas; Carol Bowers, of Camden, S.C.; Sherry and Jerry Morgan, and Cynthia Bowers "Daddy's little piggy," all of Lawton; Melissa and Jeremy Trotter, of Chickasha; and Karie Sipes, of Salem, W.Va.; sons: Wilburn "Son" Drennon, of Lawton; and Thomas "Tommy" Vass, of Tampa, Fla.; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and other family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mable and Howard Drennon; and three brothers.
