Obituary
Deliah Catherine Fox, daughter of Henry and Clarissie Fox, was born Oct. 1, 1857
near Blacksville in Mongahalia County, West Virginia. She departed this life at her home in
Seymour, Iowa, August 10, 1942 at the age of 85 years, 10 months and 10 days.
She was married to Pressley Shriver, Oct. 12, 1875. To this
union were born three children
two daughters and one son
Addie, Clara Ellen
Abraham.
She was converted and united with the
Parks chapel M. E. Church at an early age of which she kept
her faith as long as her health permitted. She came to Iowa
in 1908 and spent most of the remaining years of her life here.
She was preceded in death by her 1st husband Presley on Dec. 8, 1915
and her parents, two brothers
and two sisters.
She was married to O. C. Tennant Nov. 19, 1925 and he departed in Sept. 25, 1927.
She leaves to mourn her passing four brothers namely,
Elzeworth, Samuel, Elias
and William and two sisters,
Ida Mason and Mandy. Amnions,
besides her three children,
Addie Youst, Seymour, Iowa,
Clara Ellen Lemley
Abraham Shriver of Fairview, West Virginia,

11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren and a host of friends.
She was always alert and kept up her' household duties to the end.

MOTHER
Fold her, O- Father! in Thine arms,
And let her henceforth be
A messenger of love between
Our human hearts and Thee.
Still let her mild rebuking stand
Between us .and the wrong,
And her dear memory serve to make .
Our faith in goodness strong.
And grant that she, who, trembling here,
Distrusted all 'her powers, -
May welcome to her holier home

Funeral Services held
for Mrs. D.C. Tennant

Funeral services were conducted
from the home Thursday at 2 o'clock for Mrs. D. C.
Tennant. Rev. W. M Cleeton of the Baptist church, officiated. Interment was made at Promise City cemetery.
Mrs. Iris Merritt and Mrs. Merna Voyce sang,
"The Old Rugged Gross"
and
"In the Garden"
The flowerbearers were:
Emily Lemley, Laura Wharton,
Alice Park, Pauline Albertson,
Clara Jamison, Marie Booth
and Mary Helen McCord.
Pallbearers were:
John McCord, Roy Hickerson,
Robert DeVore, William Neighbor,
Lloyd Condra and Fred Schaefer.
