Oscar Blaine Edwards, 80, of 149 Deer Trail Road, Henry, died Friday, Dec. 13, 2002, at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County.
He was born in Woodlawn, Aug. 28, 1922, to Riley Andrew Edwards and Emma Hundley Edwards, both deceased. He also was preceded in death by one son, Dennis Edwards; several sisters and brothers; and one grandson, Greg Ferguson.
He worked in the maintenance department at Stanley Furniture Co., where he retired after 27 years of service. He was a member of the Oak Level Baptist Church and a World War II Army veteran.
Surviving are his wife, Alma Feazell Edwards, of the home; two daughters, Norma Foley of Stuart and Sandra Cockram of Henry; one son, Barry Edwards of Atlanta, Ga.; two sisters, Betty Burcham of Woodlawn and Irene Akers of Galax; two brothers, John Edwards and Louis Edwards, both of Woodlawn; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday at Norris Funeral Services chapel with the Rev. Len Keever officiating. Burial will be in Henry Memorial Park.
