Funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Collier-Butler Chapel for Mrs. Patricia Ann Mathis, 61, Attalla, who passed away Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2005. Burial in Oak Hill Cemetery, Attalla. She was a member of Damascus Baptist Church and retired from Gulf States Steel. She was preceded in death by parents, Joe and Pug Berry; son, Jeffrey Lewis Mathis and brother, John Joseph Berry. Surviving, husband of 47 years, Franklin "Bubby" Mathis; children, Johnny (Karen) Mathis, Steve (Kim) Mathis, Philip (Kathy) Mathis and Barbara (Wayne) Ledbetter; 14 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; sisters, Sharon (Ray) Hendrix, Carol (Bill) Brothers and Virginia (Bobby) Fail. Obituary for Franklin "Buddy" Mathis, 70, Attalla died Sunday, Oct. 26, 2008. Funeral at Collier-Butler Funeral Chapel and burial in Oak Hill Cemetery. Native and lifelong resident of Etowah Co., a member of Damascus Baptist Church, an employee for 25 years of R.C. Cola of Gadsden and employed for 20 years by Supreme Beverage of Anniston. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Ann Mathis; parents, Roy and Ottis Mathis; son Jeff Mathis and four sisters. He was survived by his sons, Johnny, Steve and Phillip; daughters, Barbara and all their families, as well as his sisters and brothers, Elizabeth Peppers, Jean Carroll, Diane Pruitt, Tommy Mathis and Roy Mathis. The Gadsden Times Monday, October 27, 2008.
