She lived in the Breckenridge area all her life attending Breckenridge schools and the Methodist Church. She was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed doing puzzles and watching sporting events and Nascar.
She is survived by two sons, Kevin Painter of Alma and Tom Painter of Breckenridge and a daughter, Meredith (Duane Welch) Anschutz of Breckenridge. Also nine grandchildren, Justin and Wesley Painter, Chasity and Tyler Painter, Frankie and Dillan Anschutz, Brittany, Trevor and Brayden Welch, two sisters, LaVonne Sanders of Wheeler, Carol (Richard) Butcher of Alma and sister-in-law, Phylis Gates of Breckenridge.
Mary Jane was preceded in death by her parents, ex-husband, Gary Painter, grandson, Thomas Gary Painter, brother, Ronald Gates and sister, Shirley Donley.
Funeral services were held Monday, May 20th at Lux and Whiting Funeral Chapel in Breckenridge with Pastor Dale Golden officiating.
