Perry Allen Norris, age 63, passed away on Monday, February 4, 2013, at the Wellmont Hospice House in Bristol, Tenn., surrounded by his loving family after fighting a courageous battle. Perry was born Aug. 5, 1949, and was the son of the late Danny "Shorty" and Martie Norris. Perry is a veteran of the United States Army and worked for Ramey Chevrolet in Tazewell, VA for 44 years. He had a passion for cars and collecting anything car related. Perry's last days were made comfortable by the caring staff at Wellmont Hospice especially Paula, Hope and Margaret. In addition to his parents, Perry was preceded in death by his wife, Teresa Penland Norris; and his maternal grandparents, Ida and Presnell Angles. Perry is survived by one sister, Naoma Norris-Seamon and husband Mark of Bristol, Va.; two brothers, Danny (Delores) Norris of Lexington, N.C., and Ray (Bridget) Norris of Kings Mountain, N.C. Perry is also survived by his special in-laws, Bob and Ellen Penland of Tazewell Va.; brother-in-laws, Randy and Brad Penland of Tazewell, Va.; and a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and his beloved dog, Molly. In keeping with Perry's wishes, his body has been cremated. A graveside service to celebrate the life of Perry Norris will be held Saturday, May 18, 2013, at 1 p.m. at the Necessary Family Cemetery in Tannersville, Va., with the Rev. William Watson officiating.
