Mr. John Nathan Wink, 97, passed from this life on Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at his home in Cypress Community. He lived in Ouachita Parish all his life, married to his loving wife, Ethel Mae Underwood Wink until her death in 1979. He was the last surviving child of John Henry and Theodocia Waggoner Wink.

Mr. Wink was a wonderful "Daddy" to five sons, Robert Lesley and wife, Mary, Dennis and wife, Kathryn, Stanley Nathan and wife, Aucil Lee, Edgar and wife, Nisha, Phillip and wife, Pam, and one daughter, Sarah and husband, Bill Kelley. He was "Grandpa" to 16, and "Big Papaw" to 25.

The grandchildren left to cherish his memory are John, Mark, Matthew, James, Karen, Cindy, Wendy, Shane, A.J., and Casey Wink, Melissa Baker, Margaret Sharkey, Theresa Poynter, Steven and Stuart Kelley and Danielle Hollis. Grandsons will be serving as pallbearers.

"Mister Nathan" worked many years for Tom Hicks Contractors, then was a founding partner of Wink's Dozer Service in 1972, actively working until the age of 95. He loved operating his bulldozer as much as he also enjoyed hunting on his own land, fishing in the ponds he had built, and riding his 4-wheeler through his woods.

Mr. Wink was a lifelong member of Cypress Baptist Church, where services will be held on Friday, April 16, at 11:00 AM, under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home, West Monroe, LA. Visitation will begin on Thursday evening at 5:00 PM at the church.
