Reba Jackson Montgomery, age 80, passed away Tuesday, May 20, 2003. She was born Feb. 12, 1923, in Collinwood, Tenn., and lived in Florence, Ala., most of her life. She was an active member of First Baptist Church and the Women's Ruth Class at the church. Mrs. Montgomery attended Florence Teacher's College and worked at Reynolds Aluminum.Visitation will be 12:30-2:30 p.m. Saturday, May 24, 2003, at Greenview Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Greenview Memorial Park. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Larry Wright.She is survived by sisters, Willadean Brewer of Lewisburg, Tenn., and Ruth Martin of Tucson, Ariz.; daughter, Brenda Johnson of Knoxville, Tenn.; son, Joe Montgomery of Memphis, Tenn.; grandchildren, Megan Englehart, Clay Montgomery, Sean Montgomery and Brad Johnson; son-in-law, Mike Johnson; and daughters-in-law, Camille Montgomery and Cynthia Montgomery.Mrs. Montgomery was preceded in death by her husband, Herald Montgomery; son, Larry Montgomery; and brother, Iral Jackson.Ever since you were a young girl, you have been a selfless, loving and gracious lady. All who met you quickly grew to love and respect you, and you left a mark on each heart you touched. Although now we might not understand why, God has taken you to him to reward you for your endless love and service to others, but most importantly, for your dedicated service to Him. We give you back to the Lord now with hearts full of gratefulness for the many ways in which you've enriched all our lives. We love you.Pallbearers include Clay Montgomery, Sean Montgomery, Brad Johnson, Mike Johnson, Brian Englehart, Bill Strickland and Mike Spain and Bill Weaver.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, telephone (256) 764-4921.Greenview Funeral Home of Florence is directing..
