LAKE PROVIDENCE - Funeral services for Homer Clayton Milstead, 70, of Lake Providence were held at 2:30 p.m. today in First Baptist Church of Lake Providence with Dr. Paul Kolb officiating.
Burial was in Providence Memorial Park in Lake Providence under direction of Kidder-Cox Funeral Home of Lake Providence, with Masonic rites at graveside.
Mr. Milstead died Saturday at East Carroll Parish Hospital in Lake Providence after a lengthy illness. He was a member of Pecan Grove Lodge No. 222 F&AM, the First Baptist Church of Lake Providence, and was a partner in Milstead's Auto Repair Shop of Lake Providence.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Willie Mae Milstead of Lake Providence; one son, Homer Clayton Milstead Jr. of U.S. Army, Homestead, Fla.; three daughters, Mrs. Sandra Byargeon of Lake Providence, Mrs. Elizabeth McCurley of Jackson, Miss. and Mrs. Betty Jean Phillips of Houston, Tex.; one brother, Vance Milstead of Lake Providence; one sister, Mrs. Louise Thomas of Bastrop six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Billy Ray Joyner, James Carter, Felton Johnson, Thomas Bagby, Holman Dacus and Dr. Frank Cain.
