Bib and Lila were married in Iowa and they were the parents of two children:
Alwyn/7 Feb 1920
Ruth Vivian/11 May 1921
He was a hard worker and a fierce fighter who was well known around the area for his bare fisted fighting skills. He used to travel around to fairs and carnivals at times with his son-in-law W.O.(Bud)Jaeger to engage in bare fisted fighting for prize money when times were tough, which they often were. They both did well at it. Bib was a tough guy, but deathly afraid of snakes.
He died in a "hit and run" accident on August 28, 1939 just nine days before his first grandson Walter was born. He was very excited at the prospect of having a grandchild, but sadly he never got to see him. Walter was named after him.
