Joel A. Glass was born on May 15, 1839. He was one of the 8+ children of Stephen and Lucinda Sartain Glass of Glasgow, Kentucky. Joel A. was their oldest child followed by Mary E. Glass (Born 8/27/1841), Martha Ann Glass (Born 6/2/1844), Thomas J. Glass (Born 67/1/1847), Twin sisters Sallie Jane Glass & Caroline Glass (Born 9/13/1850), Fannie Glass (Born 4/13/1856; she married Adolph Rapp on 12/14/1876), & Nannie Glass (Born on 4/3/1865; she married William Bybee on 10/5/1886). Joel A. Glass served in the Union Infantry 9th Regiment, Kentucky Infantry. Until I found your post we had no idea where he was buried, and had only thought that he must have died in the Civil War. Thank you so much for posting the picture of his grave stone and solving a family mystery. His only brother was my Great Great Grandfather. Keep up the great work! Becky
