Martha Laurene Templeton was the daughter of Charles Raymond Templeton Sr and Ada Elizabeth Darby Templeton. She was the granddaughter of George Ross and Martha Haigh Templeton, great-granddaughter of LeRoy and Mary Jane Patterson Templeton, great-great-granddaughter of Isaac Newton and Rhoda Gregory Templeton.
Martha Laurene Gately, age 80, of Cabot, passed away Sunday, December 21, 2003 at her home. She was a loving mother, homemaker, and former substitute teacher for Cabot Schools. Born November 8, 1923 to Charles and Ada Templeton, she was preceded in death by her husband, John M. Gately and her brother, Charles R Templeton. She is survived by a daughter, Jo, and husband Samuel Howell of Cabot; a son, John C. and wife Laura Gately of Maumelle; five grandchildren, Laura Ferguson of Frisco TX, Brian and Steven Howell of Cabot, and Renee and Johnny Gately of Maumelle. There are also three grandsons, Grant, Matthew and Austin. Mrs. Gately leaves a host of friends at First Baptist Church of Cabot where she was a dedicated member for 55 years and volunteer at the FBC Care House and FBC Library.
Funeral services were Tuesday, December 23, at 2:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Cabot.
