Died- May 13, 2013

Jean E. Woodford, 70, of Llewellyn, passed away Monday surrounded by family at Lehigh Valley Hospital.
Born in Cass Township, she was a daughter of the late George Raymond Callaghan and Helen Walsh Callaghan.
She was a 1960 graduate of Nativity BVM High School. A certified nurse's aide, she dedicated her life to helping others, beginning at the former Good Samaritan Hospital. She later worked for Leader Nursing Home and Providence Place before retiring.
She was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, Minersville.
She was formerly active in the Girl Scouts for many years. She was a proud member of the County Schuylkill Irish Cieli Dancers.
An avid camper, she enjoyed spending time at Christmas Pines Campground, Auburn. Feeding the birds, listening to Irish music and being surrounded by family were just some of the things that put a smile on her face.
Preceding her in death were a daughter, in infancy; a sister, Catherine "Gerry" Krupo; a brother, Raymond Callaghan.
Jean is survived by her husband, Loren Woodford, to whom she was married for 49 years; two daughters, Joyce Pellish (James), Wildwood, N.J., and DonnaRae Corby (David), Llewellyn; two sons, Keith Woodford (Sheila), Llewellyn, and Glenn Woodford, Minersville; five grandchildren, Crystal and Amie Corby, Isabella and Samantha Woodford, and Steven Nagy; nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call at 6 p.m. Friday at Dutcavich Funeral Home, 200 Sunbury St., Minersville, and from 6 to 9:15 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at St. Michael Church, 539 Sunbury St., Minersville. Interment will be in Queen of the Universe Cemetery, Norwegian Township. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Dutcavich Funeral Home or Hillside SPCA, P.O. Box 233, Pottsville, PA 17901.
