He was born to John and Minnie (Laskorvsky) Kahle on July 29, 1904 in the West Blue Community of Seward County. He was baptized September 18, 1904 at the rural St. Paul Lutheran Church of Seward by Pastor Gotthold Gruber and was confirmed at Bethlehem Lutheran Church on May 16, 1920 by the Rev. A.F. Schrein. On October 14, 1928 he was married to Elvia Friendt at Bethlehem Lutheran Church by the Rev. A.F. Schrein. Seven children were born to the union.
A life-long farmer, Adam tilled the soil and raised livestock. After his retirement, he began gardening and cutting firewood.
Survivors include his wife, Elvia; sons and daughters-in-law, Lloyd and Lois Kahle, Larry and Jean Kahle, all of Dorchester; son, Roger; daughters and sons-in-law, Bonnie and Ken George of Iowa City, Iowa; Eileen and Jim Nerud of Dorchester; Janet and Vern Smejdir of Lincoln; 17 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, friends and relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, William, Gustav, Fred, and Albert; half-brothers, Henry and Louis; two grandsons, and one great-grandson.
Services were held at Bethlehem Lutheran Church with the Rev. Jerome Rossow and Vicar Mernilo Valeriano officiating. Soloist was Delbert Reiss with organist Leoda Yost and hymns by the congregation.
Interment was in Lincoln Memorial Park. Pallbearers were Dan Nerud, Ron Kahle, Randy Smejdir, Doug Nerud, Darin Nerud, Doug Smejdir, and Wes Justa. Memorials were made to Hospice, American Cancer Society, and Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
